 What is FOREX

Abbr. "FOREX" stands for Foreign Exchange, an exchange of currencies. When a person comes to trade currencies, e.g. buy one currency and sell another one - it is called currency exchange trading, or simply known as Forex.
Because the value of each currency always on the move, it fluctuates depending on the local and global economic factors, there is always an opportunity to profit on those changes/fluctuations - it is called currency speculation.

What currency pairs to trade in Forex?

Although there is lots of currency pairs offered to Forex traders, if you are a beginner it is easier to start with major currency pairs:

There are several good reasons for that:
1. These currency crosses are widely traded, thus providing liquidity which is needed in order to benefit from price changes.
2. They have tight spreads, except may be for GBP/USD, which most of the time receives higher spread quotation from Forex brokers as it is more volatile (e.g. has wider price ranges than other pairs).

Emmanuel Adebayor - My Family Once Called Me "Rubbish" Back In The Days Before My Success

Emmanuel Adebayor in a new interview has said he went through a lot during his dark days at Tottenham under Andre Villas-Boas. The coach saw nothing in him and even his family called him rubbish and said the little success he had before then was just luck, until his story changed.
Here is what he said in the new interview and how Tim Sherwood came to his rescue.

"I was right at the bottom of the hole. Even people in my own country, people from my own family, criticised me. It can't get worse than that. They said, 'You're rubbish and whatever you did before in your career was luck.' But the new coach [Sherwood] trusted me. He gave me the keys to all the doors of the club and said, 'Do what you want to do and make yourself at home'."

Restaurant In A Plane: Ghana Airways Aircraft Now A Popular Luxurious Eatery (PHOTOS)

Restaurant In A Plane: Ghana Airways Aircraft Now A Popular Luxurious Eatery (PHOTOS)

Two months after a new restaurant was launched in Ghana’s capital, Accra, it is flying high. Known locally as the “Green Plane”, it is located in an old DC-10 aeroplane which used to travel from Ghana to Europe and the US. It is proving popular, especially with those who want to see what it is like inside an aircraft.
Owned by Ghana Airways before it went bankrupt in 2005, the plane was once impounded at London’s Heathrow airport because of the national carrier’s unpaid debts.
The government now hopes to earn some money from the aircraft and the restaurant was opened in partnership with Vindira Company Limited.

“Attendance is very impressive. At first, people wanted to have a feel of restaurant in a plane but surprisingly they keep coming,” says restaurant manager Indira Shiyam.
Some visitors have never been inside an aeroplane. “I am excited to be here, my first time in a plane,” said Mary Dapaah as she posed for a photo. “It looks a little different from the inside of planes I see on television”.
The seats have also been rearranged for the restaurant, which is in a plush Accra suburb near a number of luxurious hotels and shopping malls close to Kotota International Airport – diners can hear planes taking off and landing. “The expectations of people who come here are very high… so you have to be extra nice and careful as if you are an air hostess,” says Peace Dzamenu, a waitress at the restaurant.

Blog Joke of the day

There three men living together. An Afro-American, a West Indian and a Nigerian. They were all starving because they didn't have money to buy food.
They took a walk and on approaching a restaurant in this classy neighbourhood, they came up with a plan.

The Afro-American went in first. After being seated, he ordered a three course meal with white wine. When he had finished the meal, the waiter came by with the bill. “LISTEN MAN, I ALREADY PAID YOU!” the Afro-American shouted! The waiter was very confused because he could not remember being paid. But because he did not want to cause any trouble, he let him leave.

Five minutes later, the West Indian walked into the same restaurant and ordered a five course meal with red wine. When he was finished eating, the waiter came by to collect the money for the food. “HEY, HEY, LOOK AT ME CLOSELY. BUT I PAID YOU ALREADY!” the West Indian shouted. This time the manager came and had to calm down the West Indian, because he did not want anything to upset the other customers. He let him go.

Ten minutes later, the Nigerian walked in. He sat down. Lit up a cigarette, and ordered the most expensive meal on the menu, plus two bottles of Wine. After he had finished, the waiter came to collect the money for the meal, but before the Nigerian could say anything, the waiter spoke to him. "Sir, I have been having all sorts of problems all day and I can’t understand it. Two other people like you came in earlier and ate, and they say that they paid me but I don’t remember getting any money from them so -” Before he could finish, the Nigerian interrupted, rather emphatically, “OGA I'M SORRY, BUT THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM. I JUST WANT YOU TO GIVE ME MY CHANGE!!!"

Iyanya speaks on why Nigerian entertainers are forced to live large

Iyanya speaks on why Nigerian entertainers are forced to live large

During a recent interview with Encomium magazine, singer Iyanya gave an insight into why some Nigerian entertainers are forced to live large. Excerpts...
"Why do you think some artistes come come up with hit songs and find it difficult to maintain it?"
Iyanya "Music is very expensive. Most of them make money and its had to put it back in the same thing. Your next money is not guaranteed because there are lots of artistes. If you say you wouldn't do show A, they can take artiste B for that show. It doesn't mean that because you have a hit song, you would be performing at all shows. It doesn't work like that. So, some of these guys, its hard for them. Its hard for them to follow up. Follow up is the hardest thing to do. Many artistes make a hit but the money they make from that hit is not even enough for them to support or sponsor the next video. So don't blame them'. Continue...
So they need a lot of money to remain relevant?
Iyanya "Yes. Let me give you an instance. I had a show here in Lagos, I was in Dubai. They made a mistake and booked my flight for Monday and the show was on Sunday. We rushed to the airport, they said no that my ticket was for the next day. After much pleading and explaining that I had a show that night in Lagos, they said alright. I could board but not business class since it wasn't my flight. I had to fly economy class with my business class ticket. Sitting down there, people around where staring at me like what am I doing here. A woman even walked up to me and said "Iyanya, you no suppose dey here now, na the other side you suppose dey". What came to my mind next was that I can't just decide to fly economy today, it will become gist. I have to work hard, I have to make money, to live up to your expectations. It's not like am living my life for you but its the life I chose. So, I have to do it".

Aftermath of Glo CAF Awards: Trouble looms for Mikel at Chelsea

Obi-Mikel_1200224

THE SUN – Trouble looms for Nigerian midfielder, John Obi Mikel at his London club, Chelsea, after the player failed to win the African Footballer top crown on Thursday night, Daily SunSport has exclusively gathered.
Mikel who stormed out of the awards venue in anger was quoted, by sources close to him, that the organisers assured that he would emerge as the winner.
The competent source further revealed that the midfielder was dejected and embarrassed at the treatment he got at the event.

“Mikel was disturbed and couldn’t believe how it happened. He was given so much assurance that he was going to win it, only for the story to change at the end of the day.
“To make the matter worse, Mourinho (Jose) was convinced to release Mikel for the awards night since the Portuguese, in first instance, believed such trip to Nigeria was a distraction to the player and he would be jet-lagged on return.
“So the episode forced Chelsea to fly him (Mikel) down in the club’s jet and also to bring him back to London in good time.
“The club invested so much in making the player available at the occasion because the plane flew to Nigeria twice because of Mikel. No club would have released their player if not assured of winning the prize.
“Sure, Mikel will pick up his pieces and return to his best at Chelsea,” the source assured.
The defensive midfielder looks likely to miss today’s away clash at Hull City and must fight hard to regain his starting shirt at the club.
Meanwhile, the midfielder opted to shun a meeting at the instance of the Nigeria Football Federation after the CAF Awards as he preferred to stay back in his hotel room after the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari put a phone call through to him.

N255m car scandal: Presidential panel indicts Stella Oduah

According to a report by Punch, the committee set up by President Jonathan to probe the N255m bulletproof car scandal in the aviation ministry has indicted Aviation Minister, Ms. Stella Oduah.
It was gathered  in Abuja on Sunday  that the report of the presidential committee tallied  with some findings of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation on the scandal. On  December 19, 2013, the House endorsed the report of its committee and agreed that the minister breached the 2013 Appropriation Act.
It was learnt on Sunday that the  panel, like that of  the House, also discovered that the minister’s approval for the cars exceeded the N100m limit.
A top government source, who disclosed this to Punch on Sunday, said although the committee indicted Oduah , it did not say whether she should be sacked or not.
But sources told Punch  that there was every likelihood of the President using the cabinet shake -up that would follow the presentation of his ministerial list to the National Assembly to relieve himself of Oduah’s continued presence in his government.
